Education Sessions:
"Assessing the Health of Your Dealership"
Jim Kahrs, Prosperity Plus Management Consulting Inc. (www.prosperityplus.com)
Assessing your dealership can be one of the most difficult tasks you face. How do you brush aside feelings and emotions and assess the business solely on its merits? Can you identify what is holding you back? It is most often not what you think it is, otherwise you would have fixed it already! In this session, Jim Kahrs will present some key strategies successful dealerships have used to get the assessments they need and how they react to the results.
Kahrs has been a leader in the office systems industry for more than 20 years. He has been recognized as a top sales producer, sales manager, operations manager, dealership executive and business consultant. As president of Prosperity Plus Management Consulting, Kahrs works directly with office technology dealership principals and senior executives, helping them improve their sales, cash flow and bottom-line profitability. He has also helped many dealers successfully navigate the sales of their dealerships or the purchases of other dealerships.
"Scanning as a Service: A New Revenue Option"
Byron Aulick, president, DataVault (www.datavault.com)
In this session, join Byron Aulick for an educational look at a service offering that many are thinking will change the face of the present-day dealership. Questions Aulick will address include: Can an average dealership do this? What income can be expected? Can your staff sell it? Clicks — will they increase or decrease? How about objections and rebuttals?
Aulick is president and co-founder of DataVault Inc. He is DataVault's senior instructor and has authored the company's training materials for all of its courses. Aulick has been in the document imaging industry for 24 years and has hands-on experience in all aspects of the field.
"Are You Certifiable?"
Rock Janecek, president, Business Technology Association
In today's marketplace, with office technology dealerships providing more varied products
and services, your sales and technical staff need to have the knowledge and abilities that cover much more than just the hardware you sell. Having team members who have achieved certain professional certifications can provide your dealership with that assurance. In this session, Rock Janecek will discuss which of the industry’s current certifications are right for your
employees.
Janecek is BTA national president and the division service manager for Burtronics Business Systems Inc. located in San Bernardino, Calif. The company was founded in the 1800s as the Barnum and Flagg Bookstore. The company carries several brands, including Konica Minolta, Lanier/Ricoh, RISO, Xerox, Panasonic, Muratec and others. Janecek has been in the office technology industry since 1980, when he started his career as a technician for Saxon Business Products. He is trained in machine-specific repair, networking, employee management, customer retention and more.
