Distribution Management Acquires Premier Distribution Management
Tuesday, December 8, 2015
Distribution Management (DM), parent organization to Supplies Network, has announced the acquisition of Premier Distribution Management (PDM), a Chicago, Illinois-based company operating as a foreign trade zone specializing in international distribution and mailing services.
The move will enhance the international capabilities of DM Fulfillment, the third-party logistics division of DM and sister company to Supplies Network. These complementary capabilities will round out its U.S. distribution footprint, supporting speed to customer or shelf both domestically and into key markets such as the United Kingdom, Europe, Canada and Australia. Likewise, PDM's international customer base will benefit from improved service levels and advanced omni-channel technology integrations to support and expand their business in the United States.
"We're excited to become part of the DM family," said Steve Schultz, founder and CEO, PDM. "DM is truly at the forefront of innovation and technology in distribution and I'm confident PDM customers will benefit. It's clear the DM Management team and all the staff we've become acquainted with are passionate about their business."
"The added capability brought by PDM enhances our services portfolio by not only increasing our speed to markets abroad, but also adding expertise in the areas of supplemental international postal delivery resources," said Sean Fleming, CEO, Distribution Management. "Our goal in both DM divisions — DM Fulfillment and Supplies Network — is to maximize the value we offer our customers. We do that by providing holistic, cost-effective distribution solutions to companies seeking a competitive advantage and we consider this yet another step toward achieving that goal."
Schultz and his team will continue to operate PDM's facilities in the Chicago region primarily for small package international shipping for both existing PDM clients as well as DM clients. Product for U.S. shipping will be eligible to transfer to ideal DM distribution center locations based on client needs or potential gains in operational efficiencies and service levels.
