Lexmark has announced its Testing Assistant solution has been recognized by the analysts at Keypoint Intelligence-Buyers Lab with a 2018 Pick award as Outstanding Education Solution.

The Lexmark Testing Assistant solution, which was released in April 2017, is a cloud-based application that allows teachers to import class rosters, create test answer sheets, scan and grade completed tests, and export student results to virtually any learning management system. It is accessible from all popular web browsers on PCs, Macs and tablets, and enables teachers to easily scan to the application using a "grading" icon on a Lexmark MFP.

Using the solution, educators can print their own test materials on affordable plain paper and scan completed tests to automatically score them. Results are available in minutes, along with a variety of reports that can be used to accurately analyze student performance.

"Lexmark Testing Assistant introduces a few features that we haven't seen from other test creation and grading solutions," said Jamie Bsales, director of solutions analysis, Keypoint Intelligence. "For example, the solution supports mathematics responses and can automate complex grading schemes — like how many points an individual or group of questions are worth. And, for such a feature-rich test creation and grading solution, Lexmark Testing Assistant is still very easy to use. Creating tests was as easy as filling in a form, and grading tests is reduced to a one-touch scan job and a quick exception-based workflow."

Keypoint Intelligent named Lexmark's solution as a 2018 Pick winner based on these key strengths and benefits:
  • Cost-effective alternative to expensive proprietary "bubble sheet" test creation and grading systems
  • Frees teachers to spend less time creating and grading tests, and focus more on instructing students — as an entire class and in one-on-one sessions
  • Identifies trends in test data for individual students or across the entire class to improve lesson plans and curriculum
  • Allows teachers to set goals for individual and groups of questions and sections, or the entirety of a test, to see which or how many students are absorbing the material
  • Enables teachers to configure multiple choice, subjective and mathematics responses and define their point values
  • Integrates with popular educational solutions
"Lexmark has been helping educational institutions bridge the gap between print and digital information for more than 20 years," said Marty DeGraff, industry director, Lexmark. "We are pleased that Keypoint Intelligence has recognized Lexmark Testing Assistant for enabling teachers and instructors to save time, reduce costs and support student achievement."
