Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America (SIICA) has announced that Chris Johnson has been appointed as the director of the U.S. Central Region of the company's MFP division. In his new role, Johnson will be responsible for leading a sales team that supports MFP dealers in the Central Region.

He has more than 20 years of experience as a B2B sales professional focusing on combining technology and people to solve business problems. Throughout his career, Johnson has built new skills by working in several areas of the industry, including hardware sales, software solutions, managed print, managed IT and sales management.

"We are thrilled that Chris has accepted this new role as director of the Central Region for MFPs," said John Sheehan, vice president of channel sales, SIICA. "We are looking forward to seeing him take on the challenges that come with his new position. Chris' experience makes him uniquely qualified to lead our sales team in this region and we expect continued success there."

In 2004, he joined the U.S. Army Reserves as a psychological operations specialist. He was deployed as a member and team leader of the Tactical Psychological Operations Teams to Afghanistan from 2005-2006 and to Iraq from 2009-2010. Johnson joined the Sharp team in 2016 as a regional manager with a focus on working with dealer partners to grow major account business in the Central Region.

In other news, SIICA has announced the expansion of its AQUOS BOARD interactive display line for smaller spaces.

The new 50-inch class (49.5-inch diagonal) PN-L501C AQUOS BOARD interactive display system is ideal for the increasingly popular "huddle space" meetings and can help users optimize communication in these compact areas. At 100 nits brighter than the PN-L401C model released last year, it also boasts a 25-percent larger diagonal inch measurement and has a 56-percent larger area than the previous model.

The PN-L401C/501C product line has 10-point multitouch functionality and high-sensitivity capacitive touch technology that provides precise and smooth operation, enhancing the interactive information experience. Both displays share features with other models in the AQUOS BOARD interactive display line, including the Sharp Pen-on-Paper user experience, which resists fingerprints and scratches, as well as providing an anti-glare surface. In addition, Sharp's 2mm-tip touch pen is ideal for writing fine lines and text onscreen. It also offers full HD (1,920-by-1,080-pixel) resolution and advanced connectivity.

"We're thrilled to add the PN-L501C to the AQUOS BOARD interactive display family, making it our most expansive AQUOS BOARD interactive display product line to date," said Gary Bailer, director of product planning and marketing, pro AV products, SIICA. "These displays are not only powerful meeting tools for corporate and academic environments, but they can also be used to engage and inform people in stores, museums, showrooms and other public spaces."

The PN-L501C AQUOS BOARD interactive display is now available for shipping.
