In Memoriam: Mary Hopkins

Long-time Business Technology Association (BTA) employee Mary Hopkins (née Bullock), died on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2019, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. She was 72.

Hopkins was born on Dec. 6, 1946, to Charlie and Thelma Bullock. After high-school graduation, she attended Kansas State Teacher's College in Emporia, Kansas. Prior to Hopkins' time at BTA, she worked as a secretary at Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas; at Kansas Electrical Supply in Topeka, Kansas; as a personal care assistant in Topeka; and as the office manager at the Electrical Association of Missouri and Kansas in Kansas City, Missouri. Hopkins joined BTA in the accounting department in 1989, and she served in various roles over the years, most recently as database administrator. Hopkins moved into part-time employment for BTA in June 2018.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Thelma Bullock, and her brother, Charles Bullock. She is survived by her sister, Sue Bullock, and her nieces, Michele and Rebecca Bullock, and their children.
