Intronis MSP Solutions by Barracuda has announced it has expanded its offerings to include a subscription-based hardware solution, Barracuda Backup – Intronis MSP Edition. Available now in North America, Barracuda Backup – Intronis MSP Edition leverages Barracuda's technology to provide MSPs with an appliance-based solution for their customers.

With the launch of the Barracuda Backup – Intronis MSP Edition, the provider also announced its new brand name, Intronis MSP Solutions by Barracuda. The new corporate branding enables the MSP to leverage Barracuda's international brand recognition and rich heritage in developing solutions that provide businesses with end-to-end protection for their critical data and business applications. In September 2015, Barracuda announced the acquisition of Intronis with the goal of extending its channel reach into the MSP market and meeting the increasing data protection and security demands of MSPs and their customers. The new brand name also reflects the growing synergy between the two organizations and a continued commitment to MSP partners and the larger IT channel.

"Proactively protecting a customer's business and, in particular, its data, is fast becoming priority one for MSPs," said Rick Faulk, vice president and general manager of MSP solutions, Barracuda. "Our new Barracuda Backup — Intronis MSP Edition marks the first milestone in our journey with Barracuda and expands our ability to serve as the MSP's single-source provider of data protection. Together with Barracuda and our channel partners, we are striving to meet the needs of customers and ensure no business fails due to data loss or an IT security breach."

Barracuda Backup – Intronis MSP Edition is an all-in-one, subscription-based data protection solution that simplifies business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) service delivery for MSPs and IT service providers. Designed to protect customers from data loss, the new appliance option comes standard with several key features, including:
  • Support for VMware, ensuring instant VM recovery directly from the appliance or the cloud
  • Image and file replication to the cloud
  • Granular SharePoint recovery with Kroll Ontrack to help identify, search and recover specific files
  • Data protection for Microsoft Clusters
  • Instant hardware replacement bundled support
"With the new appliance offering, we are able to offer more value to our channel partners and customers by giving them great flexibility and choice in how best to deploy data protection solutions for their environments," said Chris Crellin, senior director of product management, Intronis MSP Solutions, Barracuda.
