Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A. Inc. (Konica Minolta) has introduced the latest generation AccurioPress color digital press, copier and scanner: the C3080 Series – which includes the C3080, C3080P and C3070. Also part of the launch is the AccurioPrint C3070L.

The predecessors - AccurioPress C2070, C2060 and AccurioPrint C2060L are no longer available. The new C3080 is an offering that is unmatched in its scope of capabilities. It delivers everything needed in a production color press and more, including enhanced productivity, expanded print services and brilliant quality.

Unrivaled in its versatility, the C3080 series is a single digital press printer with advanced features to help businesses expand into new markets and develop new revenue streams. It provides the following enhancements:
  • Two-sided banner printing
  • Professional finishing
  • High productivity with speeds up to 80 pages per minute (ppm)
  • Real-time automated quality adjustments
The AccurioPress C3080 Series features an array of finishing options such as full-bleed, saddle-stitched books and perfect-bound books. It does it all, including punching, stapling and stacking. The C3080 utilizes IQ-501 Intelligent Quality Optimizer technology to take color consistency and registration accuracy to the next level. With highly automated image registration and color control, the IQ-501 is a closed-loop system that constantly monitors and adjusts printed output, and can automate color calibration and profiling.

Print after print, the C3080 delivers superlative image quality on thick paper (up to 350 gsm,) and embossed media and envelopes. It improves efficiency levels through:
  • Simple setup procedures
  • An ultra-reliable paper path
  • Exceptional print speed
  • Outstanding automatic image stability for superior output and minimal waste
This all adds up to world-class productivity on every production print job.

Furthermore, the auto-duplex banner printing option allows for the production of six-page trifolds, brochures, book jackets, pocket folders and more. Previously, only an offset press had such flexibility.

Unlike some of its competitors, the C3080 series' Energy Star rating ensures efficiency beyond the print floor. Plus, it has enhanced Open API and IWS applications support and is the fastest dual-color scanner on the market. The AccurioPress C3080 also provides a choice of production print controllers including Konica Minolta, Fiery and Creo.

"As the demand for production-grade quality continues to accelerate, we are leveraging our own technology to disrupt the market and increase customer satisfaction," said Dino Pagliarello, vice president of product management and planning, Konica Minolta. "In addition to the press' IQ-501 compatibility, all the functionality and latest capabilities of Konica Minolta accessories are combined into one compact, affordable footprint."

With its ability to print two-sided banners and professionally finished books at high speeds on a wide variety of stocks, all with automated color and registration, the AccurioPress C3080 is an ideal color digital press for:
  • Commercial printers
  • Print for pay outfits
  • Quick printers
  • Franchise printers
  • CRDs
  • In-house marketing departments
All in all, it offers the industry a whole new realm of print production possibilities.

In other news, Konica Minolta has announced that it has been recognized with the 2018-2019 BLI PaceSetter Award for Smart Workplace Vision by Keypoint Intelligence-Buyers Lab.

According to the analysts, Konica Minolta was singled out for its market-leading position because of its forward-looking vision of the future of work and clear road map for how to get customers there. It also took into account its willingness to invest in innovative technology outside the core document imaging space, specifically its smart workplace offerings. Notably, this includes ALICE receptionist and the Workplace Hub portfolio. Ultimately, the company's IT services division, All Covered, culminates all of these varied technologies, and has the proven expertise to implement and manage.

Overall, Konica Minolta is pioneering technology to support the components Keypoint Intelligence identified as crucial to the smart workplace of the future. These are: IT services, cloud services, security, business process automation (BPA), AI, mobility, and unified communications & collaboration.

To determine which document imaging vendors are shaping the future, analysts at Keypoint Intelligence conducted a first-of-its-kind study that examined leading vendors' approaches to the smart workplace. Key areas of evaluation included the company's vision for the future workplace, its current products and services to move customers toward that vision, current and future channel and go-to-market strategies, ability to execute the vision and more.

"Office spaces are evolving, and Konica Minolta has been evolving with them," said Jamie Bsales, director of solutions analysis, Keypoint Intelligence. "The company has a clear vision of what the smart workplace of the future should include, and through a combination of in-house product development, acquisitions and partnerships, it has been actively pursuing this vision. As a result, Konica Minolta looks to have the structure and products in place to support smart workplace initiatives by offering a wide portfolio that includes its core document imaging equipment and solutions, smart receptionists, collaboration systems, robotics and advanced security video surveillance, plus the IT services to make it all work."

"We've been busy reinventing the traditional office environment," said Kevin Kern, senior vice president of business intelligence services and product planning, Konica Minolta. "So, to be acknowledged for our success in delivering tangible results on our vision for the digital revolution is truly satisfying. New technologies and evolving employee expectations are impacting how, when and where we work. Konica Minolta is always working to lead the way and to stay relevant with customers by expanding its portfolio of products and services to address the needs of tomorrow's marketplace. That's what we strive to accomplish on a daily basis. We're grateful to Keypoint Intelligence – Buyers Lab for this recognition."
