Hiring top-performing employees can be challenging. In fact, in the 2016 Cannata Report Annual Survey, dealers ranked "recruiting personnel" their number-one business challenge. Most businesses do not have a solid hiring process. Hiring managers often go by "gut instinct," which can lead to expensive consequences. The act of finding the candidates in the first place often requires extraordinary effort and cost. According to Talent Acquisition Factbook 2015, Bersin by Deloitte, $4,000 is the average amount U.S. companies spend just to fill an open position.

To help BTA Channel dealers find top talent, build more effective teams and reduce their hiring costs, PathShare HR Services has developed the Hiring for Top Performance Workshop. The training is based on the experience PathShare HR Services has acquired as it has successfully helped office equipment dealers hire, develop and retain top talent.

This one-day workshop is a front-runner to BTA's Gateway to Success event, and will help dealers learn how to:
  • Find top talent
  • Assess candidates with consistency and better results
  • Ensure an effective transition between the time a candidate accepts and the early days of onboarding
Dealers should leave the workshop with:
  • A concrete list of candidates they want to reach out to when they get back to the office
  • A solid understanding of a hiring process they can incorporate into their business
  • A "Hiring for Top Performance" training manual

This workshop is interactive and attendees should bring a laptop for use with several hands-on learning exercises. The tuition fee includes a "Hiring for Top Performance" training manual for each attendee, one Activity Vector Analysis (AVA)* online assessment plus benchmark (*AVA regularly priced at $195 each).

Course Instructors:

Sally Brause leads GreatAmerica Financial Services Corp.'s hiring and training offering, PathShare® HR Services. Her areas of expertise are attracting, motivating and developing top talent. Brause has been sharing this expertise with office technology dealers during the past several years. She is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and has been certified as a compensation professional through World at Work. Brause has a master's degree in organizational leadership and participated in the Wharton School of Business' Leading Organizational Change program.

Denise Miller is a senior human resources consultant for PathShare® HR Services. She is focused on talent acquisition and sales training. Miller looks for emerging technology and trends in identifying and finding top talent, as well consistent processes to accurately assess talent for a long-term fit and success in the role. She is a certified analyst of the Activity Vector Analysis, a behavioral assessment tool used to gain additional insight into candidates that might not be available through traditional interviewing and assessment techniques. Miller is a certified trainer through MHI Global in delivering Professional Selling Skills® training. Prior to joining the PathShare team in 2013, she spent 10 years in a sales role at GreatAmerica working directly with office technology dealers.
