Upon completing his undergraduate degree in physics, he advanced to the role of electronic engineer, where he oversaw manufacturing and systems testing for a broad range of the company's communication products — among them its time-division multiplex (TDM) common-carrier system and voice encryption offerings. In April 1975, Moore partnered with Ray Lockwood to acquire the local Smith-Corona-Merchant (SCM) branch; Lockwood has since retired. In the decades that followed, Lockwood-Moore Inc. built a strong reputation as a trusted provider of cutting-edge IT products and services throughout Nevada and California, earning recognition as one of the longest-established office technology dealerships in the country. The company began with typewriters and calculators, expanded into PCs, printers and copiers in the late 1980s, and installed its first computer network in 1988. It became a Kyocera copier/printer dealer in 1998, added Ricoh copiers to its lineup in 2008, and today rounds out its offerings with a full suite of IT services. Beyond his business career, Moore has been an active contributor to his industry and community, having served on the WOMDA (now BTA West) board and as a former president of the Reno Rotary. A man of wide-ranging interests, he holds an Open Water Diver certification, an amateur radio (ham) license and a pilot's license.
